A-Z food challenge: G is for Greece

Tonight we went out to a food tasting (organised by the lovely Edinburgh Foody) of Scottish produce at Cranachan & Crowdie, which is a gorgeous little shop located on the Royal Mile.

Since I knew we'd be eating lots of yummy food, I decided today's challenge should be something relatively light & snackish. Bread & dip sounded like the perfect solution.

This homemade greek pitta bread was a delight to make in comparison to yesterday's almond croissants - nice and easy, and not too much waiting around.

The dip is Melitzanosalata. a smoky aubergine & greek yoghurt dip. Really delicious and tangy.
