Cut Nails / Flooring Brads

Another day destroying more of my beautiful floorboards to get underneath them to insulate them. I need a TARDIS to go back in time with a few rolls of loft insulation to give to the builders in 1936 - then it would be fine now...

These are some of the very many cut nails used as flooring brads to hold the floorboards down. They have actually worked very well, non of the boards ever squeaked or lifted and they only split one joist by nailing too close to the edge of the timber.

I feel rather awkward now and I've got quite a few splinters and scratches..
