Nectar thief
What a beautiful day we've had today.... gorgeous blue skies, light fluffy cloud, warm sunshine, light breezes.....perfect for spending time outdoors :-)
We were awake early, so up and out for a walk, collecting the newspaper on the way home. Spent a leisurely half hour, with a coffee, before our hairdresser arrived, pre hol titivating ;-)
Lunchtime was an egg and sausage muffin, a little treat, really enjoyed it too!
We spent quite a bit of time in the garden this afternoon, id like to say busy, but to be honest, we just sat in the sunshine and enjoyed its warmth, whilst reading the paper, doing the wordwheel, crossword and the likes.
There were quite a few butterflies around, so I decided it was time I blipped one this year, as I've missed a couple of months of summer whilst my camera was poorly:-/
A slightly longer lens so as not to scare them off......was really pleased with this one, especially as you can clearly see its probiscus going down after the nectar in one of the tiny verbena bonarensis flowers.
We are having roasted salted chilli belly pork, with a jacket potatoe and salad for dinner this evening....trying to get back on the healthier track after our last couple of weeks.....hols looming though, but I am not usually too bad, tend to make the right choices most of the time.....how boring am I! Excluding the odd tipple of course!!
Hope youre all having a good spell of bank holiday weather too!!!
Ive almost caught up with everyones journals now I think, just a few more to go!!
