Nothing Like a Bit of Ruff!
M and I had to make a trip out to Thornham this afternoon, and conveniently, it’s the very next village to Titchwell where the fab RSPB Reserve is situated, the weather was lovely so we made the most of the afternoon.
Following a restorative ice cream after the long drive over there, and purchasing all our Christmas cards (benefitting from the 15% discount) from the RSPB shop, we headed out on the path that takes you through the reserve and onto the beach.
There wasn’t a huge amount of birds around but we did see lots of Ruff, (as shown), Lapwings, Knot, Black-Tailed Godwits, Shelduck, Avocets, a pretty Ringed Plover and a Heron trying to eat an enormous and very wriggly eel that had become stranded in a large puddle (too far away for a photo unfortunately).
The extra is of some razor clam shells on the beach.
