Ruins of Tidemills.

More about Tidemills here. This was a thriving village by the sea, but lacking amenities such as running water - well, except for the sea nearby.

Chailey Heritage Marine Hospital later built a children's hospital here. At the time, freezing cold water and howling gales were thought to be beneficial for sick children with TB, typhoid, polio etc.

The extra is of the rails for the sliding doors of a WW1 seaplane station.

None of these structures seems to have a descriptive plaque any more. They are in danger of being forgotten about by the general public, though there are local groups who maintain an interest.
