The Spathe
Visiting a friend today I saw this gorgeous clump of Jonquils, freshly blooming. At last - a real sign of Spring, although still bitterly cold!
I brought a stem home to use for my Blip, but when I uploaded it I was fascinated with the spathe - the sheath that pulls away when the flowers burst. I decided to see if I could crop it (quite severely) and retain the detaill and this is the result. I have put a shot of the original stem in my extras but used this as my main Blip because I just love the close up look of it.
