A slice of book club life

Today I went to my first book club meeting. Strangely enough we didn't discuss the book that was the chosen summer read - you've probably guessed it: Fifty Shades of Grey. Having read the whole Fifty Shades nonsense, I was a little surprised to find it was not the topic of discussion over the pineapple squares (which incidentally received rave reviews). We did interrupt the tea and cakes to choose our next book - Resistance by Anita Shreve, which should be interesting as it's a love story set in a Belgian village during the Second World War. Will let you know how it goes.
