Good morning sunshine.

Another madly early start. We wanted to be at Mesa Arch in the Cayonlands to see the sunrise.  We got there in good time and although it looks peaceful here we had to jostle for tripod position with plenty of other photographers. Most of them, as predicted by John Gravett , disappeared as soon as the sun had risen.  The best was yet to come and they missed it because there was much more colour about an hour or so later. Their loss.

Extra is in Arches National Park where we saw a short film explaining the geology of the place, and followed that with a walk through part of the park called Park Avenue.The sun had sunk a little by then and the sting had gone out of the heat, but it was still very hot. 34c today.
