We borrowed a car club car and went across town to the garden centre at Mortonhall - not across town, more round town, so as to avoid the general traffic mayhem and particularly the chaos at the top of Easter Road. We found a couple of the tunnel cloches that we were after and bought a very handsome streptocarpus of a type I hadn't seen before. We returned via the allotment where I picked another heap of green beans and several rather bloated courgettes.

The self-seeded poppies have sprung up beside (and even inside) the bean teepee and are doing splendidly. Just noticed there's a random shungiku plant flowering in the background - in reality the flowers are bright two-tone yellow.
