Water colour

Most of the kids just used blue. I asked them to paint the sea in front of them and almost all of them just reached for the blue paint, without even using their eyes. One boy had bothered to look. One boy had painted the sea green. I patted the boy on the shoulder and moved on to the last painting. Which was blue. But also green. And red and, was this violet? None of these colours were present in the sea. Except that, somehow, they were.
