A shadowy blackbird

The sun was getting lower in the sky and I took my Pentax onto the deck. The sparrows seen earlier were long gone. A solitary blackbird was perched on the top corner of a nearby building. As it launched out and downwards I attempted a photo, managing to record its shadow heading off the other way.

Later, the sunset was rather special; I have added the last photo of the day as an extra.
