People on a Bridge

The Big Bang

Husband Dear returned from a conference (in Poland, of all places!) after a week-long absence. Boy, every time he leaves I send love and warm thoughts to all single parents out there. It's rough.

We were sitting at the table, and all of a sudden, one of the overhead kitchen cabinets opens, a pyrex glass storage bowl slips out, and crushes my beloved teapot. We were so stunned, we just sat there in silence for a second before approaching the crime scene with utmost caution. The perpetrator just lied there, all whole and innocent, while the victim bled genmaicha tea leftovers from the straining basket onto the kitchen counter. Thank goodness I have just had the tea, or the mess would have been multiplied by two cups of hot liquid splashing everywhere.

I have had this teapot for 6 or so years, and it would have gone many years more. While I can easily get the exact replacement, I may try to move on, and try something new for a change.

I give you the untouched crime scene. All that is missing is a chalk outline of the body.
