When you're going to have to remove a plug socket to remove the skirting board, it's always handy to have a reminder of how it was wired up.
It should have been a simple job; remove skirting board, disconnect electrics and water supply, slide out the old dishwasher, put in the new one, connect it all up, fit new skirting and replace the plug socket.
When we came to moving the old dishwasher though it wouldn't budge. After some fiddling around with a torch, we realised there was expanding foam around the back leg. A lot of hacking with a long handled screwdriver, the leg was free but still no movement. Four and a hlaf hours later and a lot of brute force and it came free. It turns out the previous owners had sprayed some expanding foam in to a hole in the cupboard that backs on the the kitchen. This had gone up the back of the dishwasher and stuck it to the wall.
