Pear blossom

The apples and pears have just started to bloom; quite a bit later than all the other fruit trees. I was wandering around the garden desperately looking for something different to blip (I aught to have called this journal 'blips from my garden', seeing as that is what they mostly are!) when I spotted the moon above the pear tree.

I am very much hoping that we have no nasty summer storms this year, bringing mega-hail to destroy the fruit (like the Christmas Day 'storm to end all storms' last year). It looks like there are flowers coming on the olive tree, so after losing every single olive last summer, it would be nice to get a good crop this year.
