Two Horses
Just around the corner from our house this morning in Tamworth NH. Our week stay came to a close today, and we headed south. After an excellent lunch of turkey at Hart's Turkey Farm in Meredith we visited the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester. It had a small exhibition on Monet featuring his early painting of the Seine at Bougival, which is a sentimental favorite of mine (in my early teens I put a reproduction of it in a cardboard frame as a present for my Grandmother Boyden).
As it happened, the partial eclipse of the sun (2/3 obscured) reached its maximum during our visit; quite a group gathered outside, with museum personnel providing dark glasses for a striking direct view. I used a large piece of cardboard to cast a pinhole image (a bit fuzzy--see the extra). It was a good experience, though nothing like seeing the fully total eclipse.
