On se promène dans la forêt
We drove inland to Huelgoat to walk in an area with some ancient Breton woodland. Some of it has been replanted after destructive storms in the 1980s but it's very pleasant. We imagined wild Bretons hunting boar and collecting mushrooms in this forest. The Breton landscape is rugged and unpredictable and the forest contains huge boulders. We miss this sort of scenery living in flat East Anglia.
Brittany revealed more cafe-bookshops in the woods. Surly, unpredictable service is a hallmark but delightful locations for drinking iced tea and reading.
