Box Hill
Today, after a meeting with the Park manager, we headed to Dorking. G's been itching to go for ages and there was time today, but not the best day to do it. We had a wander through the town and checked out a few of their very unique shops.
Then found William Mullins' house and had lunch there. William Mullins was a resident of Dorking and one of the Pilgrim Fathers who sailed to America in 1620. His house still stands and it was really interesting to read the story of this family and especially his daughter Priscilla who ended up being the ancestor of two American presidents and even Marilyn Monroe!
Having watched the last cycle race, I wanted to check out Box Hill, so today, for the first time (in seven years), we drove to it. Despite the day and the magnificent view spoilt by low flying cloud and mizzle(!), it was definitely super to go there. Now I just need to be free on a sunny day to go back and get more shots. Actually, G's DSLR would be good to have as well.
The picture is in focus and as sharp as any; it's just the weather that makes it look blurry. True story!
Went over to meet up with Margaret and Chris in the evening to put together next Sunday's service and practice the songs/hymns.
And... it would have been my mum's 78th birthday today!
