Rockpooling

Down at Gullane Bents for a trot along the beach to Black Rocks, this is the first time I have seen a decent-sized shore crab (Carcinus maenas) in a rockpool.
Floating on the top (extra photo) an insect - yet to be identified - with a wonderfully long tail appendage. I'm sure someone in Blipland will know what it is, but can they say whether it was stuck there on the meniscus or could it extricate itself - sadly I could not wait to watch as the tide was coming in.
