Bentley

Worried tonight. This back-blipped photo is of our beautiful Bentley, a leggy Pointer with a wonderfully gentle nature. He's usually very active, almost hyper, but this afternoon he suddenly became very lethargic and unwell. A quick internet search of his symptoms made me suspect GDV - gastro dilatation volvulus, or twisted gut. Its cause isn't entirely clear, but it particularly affects deep-chested breeds, and it's incredibly dangerous.

I'll spare the details of getting a very unwell, large and quite heavy dog to the vet, but it was achieved very rapidly and as I write this he's undergoing emergency surgery. Let's just hope it's a happy outcome.
