Choisya ternata
Although the main flowering is in spring, choisya usually has another go in the autumn, and this year it seems very early, as do so many other things in the garden. It's not as vigorous in its autumn flowering, but it should go on like this now into November I should think. Choisya seems to love our heavy soil - the main problem we have is restraining it from spreading over the public footpath it borders. It's well worth it for the beauty of its flowers and for its scent, which, like that of marigolds, is unmistakable, yet indescribable.
