Beverley..

.... Brook.

Is an 8.9 mile minor river in SW London.

I walked to Richmond Park with Ruby today and she had a mighty fine time splashing around in the brook.

'In the 1920s, the river was straightened, widened and deepened and is currently failing its target of Good Ecological Potential. Therefore, the brook that runs through the park is gradually being restored and re naturalised. Sections are, temporarily, being fenced to prevent deer and dogs using it and to allow new vegetation to get established. They are also placing timbers into the riverbeds to help the diversity of the flow which in turn will clean the gravel banks allowing fish to live and spawn.' This was a new discovery for me and the section currently fenced off was towards the end of our walk.

To keep with the water theme, I am also off to Aqua this evening :-))
