A pink rose and diverted traffic.
I went out in search of beauty and eventually settled on this late Summer rose which was flowering at the Esplanade in Rishton.
A few people had gathered at the War Memorial to honour the bravery of Hardy Parsons who was awarded a VC. A memorial to him was being put in place.
Thankfully the rain held off as many were in their 80s and could do without a drenching.
I visited some good Christian friends with a People's Friend.
The blip collage shows the road works near the Parish Church where the men are fixing a water main. The pipes are Victorian. Traffic has been diverted along our street for a few days now, and it is so busy.
It takes about five minutes sometimes to cross the road, because vehicles are passing from four directions. So far there has only been one minor prang, and that is a miracle in itself. The air pollution is hazardous.
The bin vehicle managed to get through, in spite of a skip and van being parked on the back alley they normally use.
I will be happy when things go back to normal!
Have a good week blip friends.
