St Abbey's Well

The final well on today's agenda and the most evocative. Dedicated to St Abbey (or Gobnait in Irish, no I don't know how either), the little well house was erected in 1874 by Paddy the Prayers, well keeper extraordinaire. It had recently been whitewashed - in fact everything had been whitewashed regardless - rosaries, statues, coins.... I was pretty white myself I emerged from within .
