Phoenix

This sunflower was planted as a seed in February. I cared for it and tended to it at every delicate stage in its early growth. Sadly, it was snapped in a storm in early June. I was away on holiday and returned to a very sorry looking sight. I couldn't bear to throw it on the compost so I continued to water it. It didn't grow in height any further but it did sprout 7 flower buds. There's a lesson to be learned in there somewhere.
