Rowing practice

A chance of timing meant as I crossed the footbridge coming back from town this afternoon this team of eight rowers were passing beneath it, and I was just in time to get a few photos, of which this is my favourite. The tea-brown river gives some indication of what the weather has been like here; torrential rain for over 24 hours until early afternoon, with much flash flooding, train cancellations, people trapped in a Spar, and other such dramatic flourishes. With more rain due tomorrow I won't be entirely surprised if there is a bit of flooding along the river before the week is over.
