Here's mud on your boots
We left the calm and quiet that is Brahan and made our way in heavy rain to Inverness. Mr L was a man on a mission. The vouchers that he received on retirement time out at the end of this year and so he wanted to use them up before we reach France.
Our first port of call was Halford's, to buy a pair of replacement speakers for Vincent's sound system. Then we needed to go to Cotswold Outdoor, which turned out to be conveniently placed next door. We bought new walking shoes, head nets, packing "cubes", socks, a rain jacket and a collapsible kettle. We were delighted, though surprised, to receive a hefty discount as NT members.
There was a handily placed burger van in the B&Q car park, so bacon butties were procured for lunch before we drove to the big trading park for supplies from Tesco and a toothbrush from Argos. Our existing toothbrush decided to develop a fault two nights ago and has been switching itself on in the dead of night. That had to be stopped.
Shopping done, we headed to Culloden Moor, where we are staying for two nights. This afternoon we donned our new shoes, grabbed our new cameras, and took Nell out into the forest. Walking shoes are improved once muddied.
