Photographic Poeticisms

Pictures

I've a wall full of pictures
That remind me of you
Paintings and drawings
A photograph or two
Memories they are now
For only the wall's not bare
I stand in your room
And picture you there
The sound of your laughter
The flowed through the halls
The sound of running feet
Echoing from the walls
Clothes scattered floorwise
And a kitchen full of pots
As teenagers you were messier
Than when you were tiny tots
It's incredible to think how
From babies you have grown
Even more of a a surprise
Is the joy we have known
Of course there were problems
I'd be a liar if I didn't say
But we sorted things out
That was ever our way
Each day was usually ended
with a hug and a kiss
And you know what?
It's that I really miss
I miss my little children
With their tales and their chatter
It's at times like these
You learn what things really matter
Oh I know that now
You're adults, you've grown
That you're capable and able
You've most certainly shown
But no matter how you grow
And I know you'll think this sad
You'll always be my children
And I your loving dad
