2017 Monday -- Anchoring a House

If you look very carefully, you can see two construction workers in this photo; one is in a deep trench that has been dug for the footings of the foundation of a future house that is going to be built the next few months. This lot is just up the street from our property.

It would be interesting to know how many vacant lots remain here in Cayucos (ki-u-cuss). We are currently aware of three of them quite near us that are in the initial stage of building. This brings lots of action to our little street with large excavator equipment, dump trunks to load and then haul away the dirt, and semi-trucks of supplies: wood, cinder block, gravel, rebar (reinforcing steel), and much more.

So as we walked the pups this evening, we decided to walk the opposite direction of our house from our normal route to look over the edge to see the progress. These men worked late into the evening, into the darkness. They obviously are working on a deadline.

This morning we took the pups to the groomer at 8:00; they were overdue for a shampoo and the two Shih-tzu needed a touch-up on their "summer cuts." Then we drove into San Luis Obispo to go to the car wash. We needed to get our car cleaned inside and out. The beach sand and the dog hair in the car was, well was just too much to live with any longer. Once we got to the "big" city, we stopped at Margie's Diner for breakfast. After the car wash, we also made a stop at Trader Joe's for vitamins and minerals and at Walmart for a large bag of dog kibble. On our way back to the coast, we phoned the groomer to see if the pups could stay at her shop for a bit longer and we drove to Los Osos to the Farmers Market to get some of Stephanie's soup. We rarely leave the coast to go into San Luis Obispo. So I kid Mr. Fun that it is a big adventure.

This has been a busy Monday.
