Catching Up
When we last visited Edinburgh in 2013, we met up with Jon's friend Dave and his family. They live just outside Edinburgh in a village called East Linton. Jon met Dave when they did the Bushcraft Instructors qualification over the course of that year (2012/3). Today, we met up with Dave, Karen & Jessica for a meal in a very friendly restaurant not far from our campsite. Although the children have all grown in four years, and there have been the obvious changes in mine & Jons job, plus the house move, nothing else felt any different. Last time, they had kindly entertained all 5 of us in their home, as we had been camping close to them that time. It would be lovely for them to visit us in Norfolk, so that we could repay their kindness, but it is an awful long way away, and never a place you are 'just passing'. Anyway, tonight we spent 3 hours in easy conversation, and made me wish we lived closer! We exchanged some craft ideas, and addresses.
The earlier part of our day was made up of reading, sorting out a bit, and for me, wondering how I was going to get our washing dry. It has rained on and off a fair bit today. We need a few bits for breakfast too, so are contemplating popping out to the 24hr Asda, after a cup of tea. Tomorrow we are on the move south....
