Incongruous

It is such a surprise to see this tank close to the ripening vines at Denbies Vineyard! The English "Covenanter" tank was dug up in May this year from beneath the vineyard as part of a new TV series to be aired in the autumn and commissioned by the History Channel. It is one of two tanks known to have been buried at the site by Canadians at the end of the war. The Canadians had been training at the site.
The tank was in remarkably good condition considering it has been buried for seventy years, with paint and marking still visible. Read more about it on the Denbies Vineyard website. 
I looked at the vines hoping to see ripening grapes but there  were none to be seen I know there was a very late frost. Have they lost this year's vintage I wonder.
