Artichoke

I've read the instructions and I've tried and tried, but I just can't seem to be able to prepare these things. They are tasty, but I'm not convinced just now that the effort per globe is worth it.

(how do they make whole jars of the things?)

I'm just going to let them flower away, if they last that long.
