Blackwood chair
This is one of a pair of chairs.
I remember them well from my childhood on a South African farm and they were always referred to a "the Blackwood chairs"
They eventually ended up with my brother who took them to Australia.
When he tired of them, I took the chance to grab them back.
First air freighted from Australia, then repaired and restored from the damage caused en route.
They are extremely heavy with the lattice seats made from rawhide.
Now dressed with bespoke cushions, they occupy pride of place in the conservatory.
Far too many air miles, far too much money spent on them, but we love them and regret not a penny of the expense.
