Cultural feast

I've just spent two days in London and have experienced five exhibitions, one National Trust property, two nights out (including one with live music) and a long walk along the Thames at Richmond. I also explored a bookshop I've been meaning to visit for ages. Best of all, I've enjoyed the company of dear friends.

In case you are wondering, these were the exhibitions:

* 'The Pink Floyd Exhibition - Their Mortal Remains' at the V&A (see yesterday's Blip. A treat for anyone who savours creativity, not just Floyd fans)
* 'Gregory Crewdson: Cathedral of the Pines' at the Photographers' Gallery, Ramilles Street (Pictured. I really enjoyed this. Intriguing images shot in forests at Becket, Massachusetts. Very atmospheric, slightly unsettling.)
* 'Eadweard Muybridge: Animal Locomotion' at Beetles and Huxley, Swallow St, off Piccadilly (Famous images of people and animals caught in mid-motion by the early photographer)
* 'Matisse in the Studio' at the Royal Academy of Arts, Piccadilly (Another wonderful exhibition that shows how Matisse used his eclectic collection of objects in his art. Fascinating, too, to see how his style developed and changed dramatically during his life)
* 'Summer Exhibition 2017' at the Royal Academy of Arts (More than 1,200 works by emerging and established artists. I found this a bit overwhelming and probably requires more than one visit. Some gems in there, though).

And the National Trust property was Osterley Park, Isleworth.
