Totem Poles
There are lots of them here in Victoria, carved by the indigenous aboriginal descendents. This one, at the Empress hotel, depicts a raven on top of a twin headed serpent around a human figure above a sea grizzly bear clutching a halibut !

Being poor people from Poorsville in the Poor North we skipped the $80 per person afternoon  tea and went for a piece of carrot cake at the museum instead.

Great fun watching the sea planes land in the bay...Victoria airport !!
