FORGE VALLEY LINE
This is Wykeham Lane Bridge on the old Forge Valley Railway, which connected Pickering to Scarborough. All the bridges over the FV Line were constructed for double track in the unlikely chance that the line may one day be upgraded. It never was.
On Monday 1st May 1882 the first train departed from Scarborough at 6:45AM, consisting of twelve composite carriages. This line was 16¼ miles in length and had six intermediate stations.
