Panagia
Is a Greek word meaning 'All Holy' and refers to the BVM.
15th August is the Assumption (or Dormition) of the Virgin Mary and is celebrated throughout Greece and Italy and probably most of the countries lining the North Mediterranean coast as well as Ireland. Here it is the feast of Panagia and this picture is of a Bloody Voracious Mantis (Mantis religiosa) feasting on an Egyptian Grasshopper (Anacridium aegyptium)
