A young buzzard over the garden
I noticed a commotion in the air above the back gardens and the valley behind. Crows and jackdaws were squawking and flying about in numbers. then I spotted a buzzard down in the valley below rising above the trees which root beside the stream.
By the time I gathered my camera it was climbing steadily up and over the back garden. Looking at it now, it seems to be a quite young bird as its feathers seem all in one piece. Many of the buzzards have big holes amongst their wing feathers, which I presume have been damaged by birds attacking them, often in large numbers to keep them away from their own young.
