End Of The Show
Last day of the school holidays and I had the day off. We had to be up early though as BB and I were heading into Edinburgh. First job was school shoe shopping which I wasn’t looking forward to at all. However we only went to one shop and it didn’t take too long to settle on the pair that I disapproved of least! He was delighted, I was just glad it was done. Next stop was the dentist. Just check-ups for us both, and no problems to report.
We wandered up the hill to the book festival. We didn’t have tickets for anything, so spent most of our time book shop browsing. I could have spent a fortune, but limited BB and myself. The sun was out and it was a lovely day to wander round Edinburgh. We headed in the direction of the Grassmarket. BB was pre-occupied with what we might have for lunch and also with a visit to the new Diagon House shop. There was a queue for the shop so we kept going and ambled down the High Street, before we went for lunch.
Next stop was the museum, where we must have spent an hour, before heading over to the Meadows to see a show – Circus Abyssinia. We went on the recommendation of a colleague and it was amazing. Read about it here.
Our final stop was to pay a quick visit to TT’s office, as we were passing on our way back to the station. BB was very keen to show off his new school shoes.
After tea, I was on football duty. It was a lovely evening, so I met up with S and we went for what turned into a bit of a muddy walk –we had forgotten about all the rain we have had recently – while the boys were at football.
BB has taken his new shoes to bed and his uniform is laid out and waiting on him.
Here’s a flavour of Edinburgh. We didn’t see his show, but BB was very taken with his attire!
