Autumn fruit

The hawthorn fruit is ripening already. There seems to be plenty of it too, although not perhaps as much as in some years. The birds should be ok for a while. The elderberries are ripening too, and round here at least the farmers have begun harvesting cereals. It seems quite early for all this, but I don't suppose it makes much difference. Whether it's been a good year for the farmers I don't know. For fruit I think it probably has.
