The first sweet peas of the year
They have survived the slugs nibbling them, the sparrows biting their buds off, the wind battering them and have loved the sunshine! A bit later than some years, but looking good. The scent is lovely too.
Sadly the onions are a dead loss, but there is a good crop of early tatties and of broad beans, and we had the first cauliflower tonight too. That's gardening, swings and roundabouts, and at the mercy of the weather!
