Ceramic

This is a small house and my old iron is a big bit of kit but I cannot find it. I don't think it's been nicked but it's won this round of hide and seek. It's on its last legs anyway so I have retired it in absentia and purchased a new one. It has more switches and buttons than the steering wheel on a Formula One car and there are no instructions so I've just cranked it up to full/max/flat-out and gone for it. As it goes I never wear anything which cannot be ironed at full temperature - or I never wear them twice as they tend to have an unsightly iron-shaped burn mark on them shortly after I've washed and dried them. It has a ceramic plate which is something else in common with fast cars isn't it? Don't they have ceramic brakes or something?

Three more bags of paperbacks to the charity shop. Cal packed them because I can't bear to part with books - if I didn't see what was going I wouldn't stage a rescue mission.
