Cusco - Peru

The centre of Cusco sprawls all over the surrounding hills. Some streets are so steep, they are stepped. At 3200m above sea level it is an exhausting place to wander round for those of us who are used to richer airs.

The Plaza des Armas is full of striking teachers who are blocking the streets and generally causing 'peaceful' mayhem. The schools are all closed and they have been at it for a whole month!
