It's all black and white
My city, Belfast. Seen in an early morning light. Home to over 330,000 people. Probably best know for what we euphemistically called "the troubles", the site has been occupied since the early BronzeAge as evidenced by the beautiful Giant's Ring, a 5,000-year-old henge located near the city. Our history can be also seen in the remains of Iron Age hill forts in the surrounding hills. We have been called the world's friendliest city. We are promoted as a "must see" destination with cruise ships queuing up to dock, their human cargo wanting to catch a glimpse of the shipyard that spawned the Titanic and the sites now well known from Game of Thrones. History never stands still, cities, like their people, are constantly reinventing themselves. This shot shows old and new together in the starkness that only black and white reveals. Behind the buildings and offices people are creating new histories. 330,000 of them today alone. I am one of them. This photo is part of my history. Enjoy the moment
