Row, Allan, row

Finished off the holiday with a trip to Ayrshire and a meal at the Glasshouse at Rowallan Castle, near Kilmaurs.
It's a very impressive old building with an interesting and colourful history.
Apparently a local boy called Allan was rowing a Scottish chief in the Firth of Clyde when the weather became bad and the sea choppy. The chief told the boy 'Row, Allan, row' and promised him the land if he got him back in one piece.
The boy succeeded, got the land, built his castle, and it became Row-allan
