How A Community Grows

Millenium Green | Nether Poppleton, York UK

This public green space with orchard and walking space was set up with a Millenium grant in 2000. It is a secluded area opposite St Everlida's Church - previously blipped once or twice, and the churchyard is where my late parents' remains rest. The trees are really maturing nicely.

Across the way is the Tithe Barn (not yet subject for a blip... Will address that sometime maybe) where the Photographic Society was setting up its annual exhibition. Great venue and the Lord Mayor seemed to like it on Friday evening. May do some prints of my own for next year; Cheddars' film print from the N Yorks Moors was just fab.

It is a very old part of York - Prince Rupert holed up here during the Civil War - and a great place to chill out.
