Small But Large

It's not so easy to explain this, but I'll try.

I fixed the shower in my tiny apartment. The replacement parts were very easy to find and buy. I have had all the needed skills and tools to do this since I was about ten years old.
That's the small part.

The shower has needed fixing for seven years and I shut it down completely around three years ago. I've been using the one down the hall. The broken shower coincides with a relapse. This Thanksgiving I'll be sober again for a year. Doing this small and easy thing indicates that I have my brain back. Most people do not understand what alcohol dementia is, so I'll just say that it's very, very strange and way worse than you would think.
That's the large part.
