Blue-tailed damselfly
A female blue-tailed damselfly in its "rufescens" (reddish) form on Winchester's Pond, Lullington Heath. I've now seen and photographed all but one of the resident species of damselfly in Sussex this year. The missing one is the small red-eyed damselfly which is a fairly new species to Sussex and only found on the Pevensey levels, too far away for me. I also saw a couple of Grayling today (Windover Hill), bringing my butterfly species count for the year to 36. I'm hoping for 37 if I can find a brown hairstreak.
