to be Left in Charge
It was a grand children day and unusually I was left in complete control...
What could be better therefore than a visit to the "Lady Isabella" water wheel. This is the largest operating water wheel in the world.
The children counted the number of steps to the top of the tower whilst I explained the underlying physics as to how it operates.
On arrival at the top of the tower there were a couple of visitors from Germany and the elderly man was feeling distinctly unsteady on his feet.
It is quite an unnerving experience to be up there with the water wheel silently turning towards you.
