The culprit

This snail is in so much trouble... After an extensive and exhaustive chase, I have caught it red handed, in the act of running away. I am holding it individually responsible for the corporate munching of my Hostas, marigolds and dahlias last week, while I was in Paris... which has resulted in their almost complete destruction!
So far, in spite of repeated opportunities to state its case, it has remained resolutely silent. . I can wait, I will break it..... Meanwhile I shall continue to exercise my right to take my revenge on any other snails I see in the area!
Sadly I can't fix the Hostas, marigolds and dahlias which look rather sad... If not stripped bare!
