View from the top of the worst hill in Wales
looking down on the Nant Gwytheryn community that used to quarry granite and carve it into rectangular setts for road use , the village is shown in the additional image, and back when it all started everything came in by sea as the road was too steep for Horse Drawn wagons, it was a case of walking or transporting goods on pack horses or donkeys.
The village was very isolated and there is a tragic love story associated with it
Rhys and Meinir's Wedding Day
The hill is very steep indeed and many people prefer to walk rather than use their cars as it is very steep and narrow with some sharp bends, not for the faint hearted!
Down at the bottom you can visit the refurbished village, a Cafe and a heritage centre
